This is project-oriented course and involves the design of PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards). It is focused on analog circuit principles especially linked to high-speed digital design. Signal propagation problems are studied; emphasis is placed on signal-integrity risk factors, tradeoffs in high-speed designs, PCB layout and stackup. The students will learn design techniques at the board levels as well as analysis techniques using the Spice simulator. The course culminates with a full development of a hardware and software project.
